Limestone pavers need material-specific installation and sealing. Plan the pale stone’s setting materials, moisture exposure and care before work starts.
Understand the selected limestone
Limestone is a natural stone family. Different limestones have different properties. Do not assume that every pale limestone has the same strength or absorption.
Our current pavers include light off-white, beige and tan tones. Shell or fossil fragments can occur naturally. Compare the actual product description with a sample.
Follow the catalogue installation requirements
Our limestone paver pages specify mineral-free sand and/or white thin-set, as appropriate for the installation. They also require sealing both sides before installation.
Ask your installer to coordinate the stone, sealer and bonding materials. Pre-treatment must remain compatible with the specified setting system. Do not replace this requirement with a general travertine instruction.
| Detail | Record to confirm |
|---|---|
| Stone | Exact limestone product, format, thickness and crate coverage. |
| Setting materials | Mineral-free sand and/or white thin-set, as required for the selected installation. |
| Pre-installation sealing | The compatible sealer and instructions for sealing both sides before installation. |
| Site | Base condition, drainage, adjoining levels and irrigation exposure reviewed by the installer. |
| Care | Approved limestone cleaner, sealer maintenance instructions and the application record. |
Plan against discoloration
Porous pale stone can absorb moisture and contaminants. Setting materials and site water can affect its appearance. Inspect the substrate and choose compatible materials before laying the stone.
Plan drainage from the face and from below the paving. Check irrigation, wet soil and shaded areas. Sealer does not repair a drainage problem.
Review format and finished levels
The selected product page states size, thickness and crate coverage. Our catalogue includes compact rectangles and larger formats. Choose the layout around the area and required cuts.
Check doors, steps, drains and pool edges. Ask the installer to confirm the total height, including the setting layers.
Care for the pale surface
Use a cleaner approved for limestone. Avoid vinegar and general acidic treatments. Test new cleaning or sealing products on representative material.
Keep the sealer name and application record. Follow the supplier’s maintenance directions. Persistent discoloration needs diagnosis rather than a stronger general cleaner.
If a mark persists, record its location, when it appeared, nearby water exposure and the products used on the stone. Give that information to the installer or stone-care professional before choosing a treatment.
